Install NautPin

Build the dictation app and grant the permissions it needs.

Build and launch NautPin

NautPin is our fork of Pindrop with hotkey improvements, a Read Selected Text command that sends highlighted text to Kokoro, and support for local language-model cleanup. We also added the Logbook to examine speaking pace, vocabulary and patterns in dictation history. Its exploratory wellbeing signals are not a clinical assessment.

If you haven't installed just yet, install it first. It runs the project's build recipes.

bash

brew install just

Until we publish a pre-built DMG, build one from source with the commands below. You will also need Xcode and the dependencies listed in the repository's current build instructions.

bash

git clone https://github.com/48Nauts-Operator/NautPin.git
cd NautPin
just dmg
open ./NautPin.dmg
# Drag NautPin into /Applications

Or, from the same repository directory, build directly without creating a DMG:

bash

just build
cp -R DerivedData/Build/Products/Debug/NautPin.app /Applications/

Launch NautPin from /Applications. Grant it microphone access and accessibility permissions when prompted (System Settings → Privacy & Security).

It’s working if

NautPin launches from Applications and has microphone and accessibility access. If the build fails, check the repository’s current Xcode requirements.
